My
partner and I had designed a power point before this conference. We decided
three main ideas and will be fighting against each other on each point. But it
seemed like it will be kind of confusing for listeners because sometimes Phoebe
goes first and sometimes I go first. If we want to debate based on the same
topic, we have to design our power point more similarly. For example, if Phoebe
uses an image to explain her point, that’s what I’ll have to do. We need to add
an outline before our content, so that we can give listeners a better idea of
what we’re going to talk about. Also, charts or figures are easy for listeners
to catch up, so we can use some charts to convey our idea more clearly. And we
need to design questions so that we can have interaction with our listeners. We
can discuss with our foreign student to come up with a few questions; we can
ask him whether they have showgirl or anything like this in their country. This
way we will have cultural exchange, instead of just present our kind of version
of showgirl.
In
this teacher student conference, I found out that some groups still didn’t find
a foreign student, and some got stood up. I think we should talk to our foreign
student more frequently so that we won’t make the same mistake.
